A non-coaching fun fact: If you love pomegranates (as I do), there's a great way to do get to those seeds without making a mess and staining everything in sight. Simply fill a sink or large bowl with water, submerge the pomegranate and cut it into quarters. Keeping each quarter submerged, bend one quarter inside out as you would a quartered orange you are eating. Simply flick the seeds out from the white pith (they really just pop out). The seeds sink to the bottom of the bowl or sink (bowl is better actually) and the pith floats to the top. When you have cleaned out each quarter, simply scrape.the pith off the top of the water or pour the water off into a strainer to catch the pith. The seeds stay on the bottom of the bowl and you have a wonderful pomegranate harvest. Enjoy!
